COMPARISON OF SIGNATURES – It deals with the analysis of the disputed or questioned signature with the standard signatures of the concerned person whose signature needs to be verified.
COMPARISON OF HANDWRITING - It deals with the examination of the disputed handwriting with the standard handwriting to determine whether the writing is executed by the same suspected or concerned person. Thus, determining the authorship of the handwriting.
DOCUMENT AUTHENTICATION – It is performed to detect any kind of tampering done in the documents, in respect to the content, signature on the photo on the document, produced to change the original worth of the documents.
DECIPHERING OF INDENTED WRITINGS - It is the examination of the writing left below the original writing, i.e. created by the pressure of the writing instrument. The deciphering of these indentations reveals the actual writing and is done using ESDA and then, photography of the document is done.
DECIPHERING OBLITERATED WRITING - It is mainly concerned with the examination of addition or deletion in the documents which is achieved by using the correction fluid, or tape, or by repetitive strokes, with an intent to hide the actual writing. Non-destructive examination of obliterated writing is performed and photography of the revealed writing is done using different light sources.
EXAMINATION OF THE TYPEWRITTEN DOCUMENT - It is performed to identify the typewriter used to create the document. Each typewriter produces some characteristic marks which individualize its identity. Further, analysis can be performed to identify any kind of alteration done to the typewritten document for gaining illegal benefits.
EXAMINATION OF THE SEQUENCE OF STROKES – It is done when multiple intersecting strokes are observed, to identify which stroke is produced first and which stroke is succeeded by the previous one. This analysis determine whether the writing or letter is executed simultaneously by the same person or produced later by some other person.
CERTIFICATE VERIFICATION – It is performed to authenticate, whether the provided certificate is genuine or fake, as each genuine certificate is unique in production and possesses important features, like serial number, QR code, watermark, hologram, etc.
INK ANALYSIS - It is the examination carried out to determine, whether the ink of the two writing is the same or not, which finally determines that the used writing instrument was the same or different.
VIDEO SPECTRAL COMPARATOR (VSC-4) – This instrument comprises different light sources and a recording device, automatically adjusting itself in various angles. It is used to detect the different inks and dyes used in a document. Indeed, there is no question about its efficiency and accuracy.
ELECTROSTATIC DETECTION APPARATUS (ESDA) – This instrument is used to decipher the indented writings, observed on a paper left below the original paper and produced due to pressure of the writing instrument. The instruments don’t destroy the document and are very sensitive in their work. Even after years of indentations being produced, it can decipher the content.
STEREO-MICROSCOPE – It is used to get an enlarged view of the exhibit document, which is used to carefully observe the minute details of writing and characteristics of the writer.
MISCOPE - It is a portable microscope, with various light sources, used to decipher the obliterated writing. The device has a camera, which is used to capture the result.
ULTRA-VIOLET LAMP – The device comprises a lamp producing light of a wavelength in the UV region, which is used to decipher the obliterated writing.
DSLR CAMERA – The camera is used to take high-resolution images of the exhibits as well as the results for their preservation in records.
ROFIN'S POLIRAY – It is a portable light source, which gives a 75W focused and even bright beam, which is used for studying minute characteristics of handwriting.
COLOUR FILTERS – These are used with the Policy to focus a surface or exhibit with a specific color, used in either combination or contrast, in order to obtain better results.
SCANNER – It is used to scan the exhibit (document) at high resolution, which is required to study minute details of the document at high magnification.
RING LIGHT ILLUMINATORS – They are white light illuminators, which are used to focus bright light over the exhibit (document).
SPHEROMETER – This instrument is used to measure the thickness of the paper, used in authentication of document, comprising of multiple pages.
GRIDS AND RULERS – These are used for marking on the document to measure the size of the document and handwriting features. These are also used for live-size photography.
TLC KIT – This kit comprises of TLC chamber, TLC plates, and various chemicals, which are used in ink analysis.
