Sifs India

Welcome to SIFS India’s Forensic Facial Imaging Laboratory, India, specializing in reconstructing facial identities from skeletal remains and using eyewitnesses' memories to bring back life to the faces of the unknown.

Our forensic artists are well equipped with traditional sketching skills and with the use of modern facial imaging software, SketchCop, to reconstruct facial features and decipher the identities of individuals in cases where traditional identification methods fall short.

Key Services Offered:

Facial Imaging & Reconstruction: We specialize in advanced facial imaging and reconstruction techniques to bring forth the faces of the suspects and the unknown.

Forensic Anthropology Expertise: Our skilled forensic artists do facial reconstruction of skeletal structures using the software to provide insights into age, sex, and ancestry.

Facial Approximation Techniques: We use state-of-the-art facial approximation methods, combining artistic skills with scientific methods, to create accurate representations of facial features.

Expert Witness Testimony: Our experts provide expert witness testimony, offering insights into the forensic facial imaging and reconstruction process and strengthening its evidentiary value during legal proceedings.

Advanced Technology Integration: Our laboratory uses 3D facial imaging software to ensure robust forensic facial reconstruction, thereby providing clues about the missing or criminals and helping in solving cold cases.

Our Forensic Facial Imaging Laboratory implements a unique blend of artistic expertise with technological advancements and offers precise facial feature reconstruction services.

Contact us to assist you on your journey to procure justice, where every skull holds the potential to reveal a face.

In our Forensic Facial Imaging Laboratory, our expert forensic artists use manual as well as advanced techniques to reconstruct and analyze facial features for investigative and identification purposes.

Our process begins with the examination of skeletal remains or incomplete facial structures to reconstruct faces using cutting-edge computer software (SketchCop). We can also conduct facial age progression or regression to identify criminals who might have changed their looks to fool law enforcement.

We also use 3D modeling and sculpting technologies to refine and enhance facial reconstructions, ensuring a high level of accuracy in depicting facial features.

Our laboratory always stays abreast of technological advancements and collaborates with forensic anthropologists, artists, and law enforcement agencies to identify individuals involved in criminal activities, missing persons, and victims of mass disasters, adhering to ethical standards to ensure the reliability of our facial imaging outcomes.

Digital Facial Composites: These are facial images of suspects based on eyewitness descriptions or observed in CCTV videos or still images. Investigators can opt for a traditional hand-drawn composite by a forensic artist or using digital tools, or they may choose to purchase the SketchCop® Facial Composite System software for a software-driven solution with complete training.

Postmortem Facial Imaging: Our forensic artist uses 3D laser scans or CT scans to create 3D digital sculptures resembling traditional clay busts. Alternatively, an aligned skull photograph can be used to produce a 2D facial reconstruction through photo or illustration techniques. This technique brings cleaned-up, media-ready images of unidentified remains with facial trauma or disfigurement to life using photo or illustration techniques.

Age Progressions/Regressions: Using scientific growth information, our forensic artists can generate age-progressed photographs for long-term missing children and adults, as well as fugitives from justice.

1-to-1 Face Comparison and Analysis: By analyzing the morphological features of a known individual in relation to an unknown person, our forensic artist can assess their probable identity.

Facial Image Editing: When criminals alter their appearance, such as by growing longer hair, shaving their heads, or using disguises, our forensic artist can update previous mugshots, government IDs, or other photographs.
