The All India Chess Federation (AICF) manages chess in India. Established in 1951, it's linked to FIDE, the global chess authority. Notable players like Viswanathan Anand emerged under AICF's umbrella, along with others like Nihal Sarin and Pentala Harikrishna. The organization oversees women's chess too. Its headquarters are in New Delhi. Registered on December 12, 1958, under the Societies Registration Act of 1860, AICF's role extends to nurturing talent and organizing competitions. In August 2022, AICF hosted the 44th Chess Olympiad in Chennai, India, which was the first Chess Olympiad ever to take place in the country.
