Delhi High Court

The High Court of Delhi, established on October 31, 1966, under the Delhi High Court Act, 1966, serves as the highest judicial body in the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi at the state level. It oversees nine judicial districts' subordinate courts. It held jurisdiction over Delhi and Himachal Pradesh, with a Himachal Pradesh Bench in Shimla's Ravenswood building. This continued until the State of Himachal Pradesh Act, 1970, was enforced on January 25, 1971. The High Court of Delhi has original jurisdiction, allowing civil cases to be filed directly. Other high courts with original jurisdiction are Bombay, Calcutta, Madras, and Himachal Pradesh.
