Founded by Sir Dorabji Tata in 1919 with a mission to ensure the welfare of India's populace, New India Assurance Co. Ltd. has grown into a multinational general insurance entity, operating in 25 countries with its headquarters in Mumbai, India. It is a public sector insurance firm under the Government of India's ownership and managed by the Ministry of Finance and is India's largest nationalized general insurance company in terms of gross premium collection. The company has received prestigious awards like the most preferred workplace and General Insurance company of the year for FY 2022-23 from BFSI, along with the ETascent Stars of the Industry award for Excellence & Leadership in BFSI.
